The picture above is self explanatory and a good way to
keep your columns straight at their base plates. I didn't install the
foundation anchor bolts and didn't have anything to do with the concrete
work on this particular job. Otherwise I might have installed one anchor
bolt at each end of the foundation framing plates.
In other words, I would have located one anchor bolt on each side of the
framing plates and I wouldn't have installed the 2 x 4 nailers that are
currently nailed on top of the 2 x 4 treated column base plates.
